Google Classroom MCP

mcp ×google-classroom
MCP (Model Context Protocol) server with 43 tools to integrate Google Classroom directly into AI agents, eliminating manual management of courses, assignments, and students.

💡 Motivation

Managing Google Classroom through the web interface is slow and repetitive: creating assignments, moving them to topics, posting announcements, reviewing submissions… all operations that consume time that could be spent with students. The goal was to be able to do everything with natural language, directly from an AI assistant.

🛠️ How it works

✨ 43 implemented tools

The server covers the full range of Classroom operations:

  • Courses: create, update, delete, list and search courses.
  • Students and teachers: add, remove and list members.
  • Assignments and materials: create, edit, publish and delete.
  • Topics: organise course content by subject.
  • Submissions: consult, grade and return assignments.
  • Rubrics: create and manage assessment criteria.
  • Announcements: post and manage course communications.
  • Guardians: invite and manage students’ legal guardians.

🤖 Integration with personal assistant

This MCP is the central piece of a personal teaching assistant built with AI agents. Combined with Google Workspace MCP (Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Docs, Calendar), it enables the automation of complete workflows:

🚀 Impact

  • 76 students managed across 4 courses from a single conversational interface.
  • Operations that required 10–15 clicks are done with a single instruction.
  • Foundation for a growing ecosystem of teaching automation.
